Santa Semana (or Holy Week) is the name for Easter Week in Spain. This is a culturally and religiously important event, celebrated across Spain with processions that depict "The Passion of the Christ".
Information on the 2026 Fiesta is not yet available. For guidance, please refer to a prior Programme provided below.
Palm Sunday (Domingo de Ramos)
The start of the Holy Week takes place on Palm Sunday, with special masses across Javea, including the old town and the port. Family processions also take place with all family members carrying white palm branches.

Wednesday 1 April (MIÉRCOLES SANTO)
18:45 Rosary led by the women of the parish and open to everyone.
19:30 Eucharist
20:30 Community Penitential Celebration
Thursday 2 April - Maunday Thursday (JUEVES SANTO)
Confessions half an hour before each celebration.
18:00 Eucharist.
20:00 Solemn Eucharist of the Last Supper.
23:00 Parish Holy Hour followed by worship at the monument. The church will remain open all night until 16:00 on Friday
Friday 3 April – GOOD FRIDAY (VIERNES SANTO)
Good Friday will begin with the Stations of the Cross at 7.00 am.
Afternoon services will be held at 4.00 pm in the Convent church, at 5.00 pm in the church of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles on La Plana, and at 5.30 pm in the parish church of San Bartolomé.
Afterwards at 7:30pm the solemn procession of the Cross will take place on the Port esplanade of the Port. Departure from the parish church.
Saturday 4 April (SÁBADO SANTO)
20:00 Solemn Easter Vigil will be celebrated at 8.00 pm in the church of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles on La Plana.
22:00 Vigil in the parish church of San Bartolomé.
Following the service, the Procession of the Holy Encounter (Procesión del Santo Encuentro) will take place, marking one of the most symbolic moments of the Easter celebrations.
Sunday 5 April - Easter Sunday (Domingo de Resurreccion)
Easter Sunday is a religious day and national holiday in Spain, with special masses held in churches across Javea. Part of the local tradition includes Javea peñas and associations all meeting up in the church square at midday, to spend time together with food & drinks. An Easter Market & Craft fair is held in the Old Town of Javea.
09:00 Mass will be celebrated in the Convent church.
10:00 Services will also take place in both the parish church of San Bartolomé and the church of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles.
12:00 / 19:00 Additional Masses will be held later in the day at the parish church of San Bartolomé
