"HELP" is a volunteer group providing support for the lonely, infirm, the,elderly and those in need of care. They loan out hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers etc. They have a HELP desk in Hospital Marina Salud with interpreting and information
 
HELP of Marina Alta provides help and care in medical emergencies. 

They also provide medical equipment, for short term loan, to assist people in their homes after suffering from an accident or recovering from surgery.

It also provides medical equipment for the Marina Alta Hospital in Denia.
The volunteers assist with taking people for hospital appointments and also provide practical assistance and advice with many other problems.
 
The HELP organisation has a Help Desk which is situated in the Main Entrance at Denia Hospital, to the left of the main information desk.
 
A HELP volunteer will assist with enquires in English from 11.00am – 2.00pm Monday-Friday (telephone 966 427 044).
 
Volunteer interpreters can be booked in advance using the same number, but please remember due to work load and waiting time for Consultants your appointment cannot be guaranteed.

 

HELP of Marina Alta are always in need of volunteers and interpreters so if you feel you have something to offer the organisation please contact them via phone or email.

Help of Marina Alta is a charity (Reg No 3706) which began in 1984 and is manned entirely by volunteers.
 
WHAT DO THEY DO?
Provide advice, assistance and support to those in need.
Provide neighbourly assistance to people who are ill, disabled or housebound.
Provide a range of medical and home nursing equipment for short term use.
Provide a Help desk and Interpreters at Denia hospital.
Visit English speaking patients in the Denia hospitals.
Support individual carers of family members, by providing them with some respite.
 
They work in conjunction with other charities, organisations and HELPs in the Marina Alta to give assistance wherever needed.
 
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
They are always looking for people who are willing to give their time in a variety of ways.
For example, they need volunteers to:
- work in their charity shops, office or equipment store
- support their Hospital Help desk and Hospital Visitors
- assist in their Activity Centre
- be drivers to help with medical visits, etc
- visit frail or isolated individuals living alone and provide social contact and support.
- to organise or help at various fundraising events held throughout the year.
 
WHEN DO THEY MEET?
An Executive Committee meets regularly to review existing and identify new activities; and also to monitor income and expenditure.
An Annual General Meeting is normally held in March of each year. Only members of HELP of Marina Alta are eligible to attend.
A Volunteers Meeting is normally held in October each year, and this is open to both members and guests.
