Guide to the Best Beaches in Javea, Spain
Find details of the many beautiful beaches and coves that Javea has to offer along the coastline on the Costa Blanca, Spain. The 20 kilometer coastline offers many "miradores" - viewpoints to each of the many beaches in Javea, from the most northerly beach of Cabo de San Antonio to the southern beach of Cala Granadella.
Arenal Beach - Playa Arenal
This is the main beach in Javea - it is a horseshoe shaped beach offering safe, clean, soft sand and is gently sloping into the sea, making it perfect for families.
It offers a wide selection of amenities including an adjoining promenade with Cafes, Bars & Restaurants. There are several children's play areas as well as Red Cross volunteers & lifeguards in the high season.

Cala La Granadella - one of the most beautiful natural locations in Javea, Granadella is a secluded pebble & sand beach. This Blue Flag beach offers facilities including a couple of restaurants. Recommended for snorkelling due to its crystal clear waters. This beach gets very busy in the summer and is only 160m in length.
Cala Ambolo - this is a naturist sandy beach located on the Cabo la Nao, although swimwear is allowed! The beach is only 300m in length, but is one of the most beautiful beaches to discover in Javea.
Cala Barraca / Portixol Beach - one of the most popular beaches in Javea, this is a pebbly and rocky beach located between Cap Prim and Cap Negre. The beach is recommended for Scuba Diving & Snorkellling, and is accessible by car via the "Cabo de la Nao" coast road. It is also accessible on foot from the viewpoint "Mirador del al Cruz del Portitxol".
Playa La Grava - this Blue Flag beach is the pebble beach located at Javea Port, offering calm, clear and sheltered waters.
Primer Muntanya Beach / Playa del Benissero - this rocky stretch of beach is located 300m from the Port and extends down to the Hotel Parador. This is the location for the many chiriguito bars which pop up in the summer. Watersports are available including Waterskiing & Jet Skis for hire, and this is a popular location for snorkelling due to its clear waters. Facilities include easy parking, toilets, lifeguards and sunbed / umbrellas for rent.
Segundo Muntanya Beach - this quiet rocky beach is found south of Playa Arenal, with steps to access the sea. Facilities include chiringuitos and parking.
La Caleta / Cala Blanca - a beach of white pebbles and rocks, and mesmerising clear waters, Cala Blanca is a fantastic beach for snorkelling. The beach offers 3 small coves - Caleta I, Caleta II and Caleta del Francés - the beaches are only accessible on foot via steps in the cliffs behind the beach. To reach the steps, park at Mirador de Cala Blanca or Mirador de las Caletes.
Cala Sardinera - an unspoilt small pebbly & gravel cove located at the northern end of Cap Prim. Access is via a trail from "Mirador de la Cruz del Portitxol". The beach is a perfect location for snorkelling and swimming.

Arenal Beach - Playa Del Arenal is the main beach in Javea offering safe, clean, soft sand and is gently sloping into the sea, making it perfect for families.

Cala Ambolo is a naturist sandy beach located on the Cabo la Nao, although swimwear is allowed. The beach is only 300m in length, but is one of the most beautiful beaches to discover in Javea. It is currently closed due to danger of rockfalls and landslides, but there have been efforts to re-open the beach recently.

Cala del Moraig is a beautiful, Blue Flag, gravel cove between Moraira and Javea. The beach is only 300m in length, but offers a range of services, including disabled access, amphibious chairs, lifeguards, nursing service, plus daily cleaning. The far-left of the beach is also a nudist area.
