Visiting Cala del Moraig Benitachell

Cala del Moraig is a beautiful, Blue Flag, gravel cove between Moraira and Javea. Nestled between the towering cliffs of the Puig de la Llorença mountain, this picturesque cove offers a tranquil and scenic escape, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and beachgoers alike. The beach is only 300m in length, but offers a range of services, including disabled access, amphibious chairs, lifeguards, nursing service, plus daily cleaning. The far-left of the beach is also a nudist area.

Stunning Scenery

Cala Moraig is known for its stunning scenery, featuring crystal-clear turquoise waters, dramatic cliffs, and a pebbly shoreline. It’s set in a picturesque cove, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers.

Cova dels Arcs 

One of the main attractions at Cala Moraig is the Cova dels Arcs, a natural cave with arches formed by the sea. It’s a popular spot for photography and exploring.

Snorkelling and Diving

The calm, clear waters and rich marine life make Cala Moraig an excellent location for snorkeling and diving. The underwater landscape includes rock formations and sea grass meadows.

Hiking Trails

There are several hiking trails around Cala Moraig that offer stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding landscape. The routes vary in difficulty, catering to different levels of hikers.

ACCESS & PARKING There is an area for parking next to the road leading down to the cove. The rest must be reached on foot.

A vehicle control system is operational from April 1st to October 15th to the car parking for Cala Moraira

Parking lot is payable for visitors and users of the beaches, but residents who meet the requirements set out in the Municipal Ordinance of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell are exempt and can access for free.

A FREE Bus Service runs in the Summer months from Benitachell, at the following stops: Municipal cemetery, Mas y Mas Supermarket, Lady Elizabeth School. Bus times are 10am, 12pm, 2pm - returning at 4pm and 6:30pm.

FACILITIES: There is a viewpoint above the beach called Nou Mirador Cala Moraig. The cove also offers lifeguarding in high season, amphibious chairs for bathing, and daily cleaning to keep the beach pristine. Red Cross First Aid services are available, as well as toilets. Plus, during the summer months, a beach bar (chiringuito) operates at Cala del Moraig, serving cold drinks, sandwiches, salads, and tapas.
