The Javea Carnival is held in Javea, Spain, near the start of lent - this year the festivities will take place on Saturday 22 February. The festivities are centered around an extravagant Fancy Dress Parade.

Javea Carnival 2020 | Fiestas in Javea 2020
A carnival has been celebrated in Javea since the 80s and has become very popular for Children and Adults. The festivities start with a children's costume parade, followed by a musical performance for them. At night, it is the adults' turn to have fun. From Plaza del Convent starts a colourful parade of costumes and it ends at Plaza de la Constitución where the party continues with a street disco until the early hours of the morning.
The carnival is an opportunity for one last night of excess before the 40 days of lent. Information on the 2020 Carnival is provided below as a guide - the programme for 2021 will be updated as soon as it is available.
17:00 Children's Parade sets off from the Plaza de la Constitución. It passes through the streets of Xàbia Histórico and arrives back at the Plaza where "Menuda Festa" minidisco will be offered. Afternoon music & dancing with DJ Pepa Desnivell, with bar and food service offered until the end of the night.
23:30 Adult's Parade and Costume Contest. The parade begins at 23:30 at the Placeta del Convent - the route is as follows: Pl. De la Constitució, Oms, Placeta del Convent, Ronda Colon, Ronda Sud, Ronda Nord, Príncep d'Astúries, Bon Aire, Pl. De la Constitució.
The parade of costumes will end in the Plaza Constitución. Music performances will provided by Toni Pub, DJ Gualda and Pablo Alemany.
