Benissa Coastal Walk: Paseo Ecológico Routes and Visitor Information

Choose Your Route

Benissa Tourism describes two sections starting at Tourist Info Benissa Playa. These are linear walks, so allow for the return journey.

Towards Les Bassetes: approximately 0.6km one way

The shorter section leads to Club Náutico Les Bassetes, passing an old stone quarry and a botanical micro-reserve. Retracing your steps gives an approximately 1.2km return walk.

Towards Cala Advocat: approximately 2.9km one way

The longer itinerary passes La Fustera and Els Pinets, then turns inland through Fanadix towards the Llobella area and Advocat. Allow approximately 5.8km if returning the same way, with extra distance for detours.

Baladrar is a separate visit: the official description states there is currently no footpath connection from the ecological walk to Cala Baladrar. 

Coastal Paths and Inland Sections

Expect changes in level and a mixture of coastal paths and inland stretches. After Els Pinets, the route uses Calle Pinets towards Avenida de la Marina before continuing beside the Fanadix green area.

The official description identifies an asphalted section and a crossing of the Llobella ravine. Follow the marked itinerary rather than attempting to remain beside the sea throughout.

Wear walking shoes with a good grip and allow more time than you would for a flat promenade stroll.

Walking with Children and Accessibility

For a shorter family outing, consider the Les Bassetes section and turn back when it suits your group. The longer itinerary needs more stamina and time for the return.

Do not assume the entire route is suitable for pushchairs or wheelchair users. Ask Tourist Info Benissa Playa about steps and current access on your chosen section. Accessible facilities at La Fustera Beach do not establish accessibility along the whole walk.

Parking and Facilities

La Fustera Beach has parking, including accessible spaces. Check signs for current restrictions and charges, and allow extra time to find a space during busy periods.

Facilities listed at La Fustera include toilets, foot washes, a picnic area, food and drink options and adapted beach access. Some services operate seasonally. 

Fanadix also has picnic tables, public toilets and a playground along the longer itinerary.

Carry water rather than relying on finding refreshments throughout the walk.
