The Name

The school is named after Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, who was Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon before her marriage. In 1987 the Late Queen Mother graciously gave her permission to use her name, and on the first anniversary of the school in September 1988 she presented a portrait of herself which is now to be seen in the reception area of the Lliber Senior School.

The School

Laude The Lady Elizabeth School is a coeducational day school that caters to pupils from 2 to 18 years old.
It has a Junior School located on the Northern Entrance Road of Cumbre del Sol at Benitachell, and a senior School located on the Benissa to Jalon Road at Lliber.
Both the Junior and the Senior Schools offer the most modern facilities, and pupils study for qualifications upto GCSEs, IGSEs and GCE A / AS levels.
English is the official language of the schools, but studies are complimented by a Spanish curriculum (the Spanish language, Valenciano and the history and geography of Spain), French and German are also offered at Secondary level.
The programme of study of the school is recognised both in the UK and Spain.

The Facilities

Laude The Lady Elizabeth School has enviable facilities. These include science laboratories, music studios, dance studios, two computer suites, art room, textile and fashion studio, food science kitchen, library, media studies suite, gym, swimming pool, hard court games areas, a theatre and a cafeteria.

The Pupils

Individual development is given priority, and pupils are guided to enable them to reach their full potential in their studies and in life after they leave school.
School uniform is worn by all the pupils, and this gives them pride in their school.
There is also a house system, which fosters team spirit, and during the year there are many sporting events with the houses competing against each other.

Activities

Apart from the various activities in the field of sports, there are also Drama, Dance, Speech and Music groups.
Each year the school produces shows such as musicals and an annual Christmas Pantomime that are eagerly awaited by the public in the surrounding towns, as they are of a very high standard and highly entertaining.
If any pupil displays any special talent the school nurtures this and gives every encouragment to further it.
