Markets in Javea: Javea Municipal Market

This market is also known as the Daily Indoor Food Market, and is dedicated to the sale of local produce. Within the market, you will discover a wide array of stalls offering bread, fruit and vegetables, meat, cheeses, and more. The market is located in Plaza Celestino Pons, in the historic centre of Javea.

The Mercado Municipal is located next to the Historic Church of Javea, located within the "Mercado Municipal de Abastos", a building constructed on the original site of the 17th century convent, "Convento de las Agustinas Xabia". During the civil war (1936-1939) the old convent was destroyed and the Municipal market was built in its place.

Within the market you will discover 800 meters of stalls offering bread, fruit and vegetables, meat, seafood, and cheeses. You can also enjoy a drink and snack from one of several bars within the market.

The vendors' associations often prepare events and initiatives: wine tasting, ham cutting, and much more.
