January-December 2023
Fiestas in Javea are important celebrations in the Calendar of Events in Javea. They are often of religious importance and perform the rich history of the area & honour patron saints of the town.
From January through to December there are many wonderful fiestas in Javea, including parades, spectacular firework displays, beautiful costumes and, of course, food and drink festivities! January 2023
LOS REYES MAGOS - Procession of the Three Kings in Javea (5th January)
The Three Kings (Baltazar, Gaspar and Melchior) arrive in Javea on a fishing boat bearing gifts for local children. There are two processions during the day and evening. One procession travels through the port and a second travels through the Old Town to the Placeta del Convent in the evening.

BANK HOLIDAY - NATIONAL (6 JANUARY) - EPIPHANY
SAN ANTONIO ABAD - Burning of the Pine / Blessing of the Animals in Javea (15th January)
San Antonio is a popular festival for pet-owners and animal lovers, with local traditions including burning of the pine tree in Plaza de San Antonio to warm up the winter night, followed by a parade of horses and carts. The festivals ends with the blessing of pets and other domestic animals in Plaza de la Constitución in Javea.

February 2022
Half-Year (Mig Any) "Mare de Deu de Loreto" (February 2022)
Celebrate the Half Year Virgen de Loreto Fiesta Day in Javea Port in March. This is a special day that brings together hundreds of people every year. The planned program includes activities for all ages including inflatables, music, sports and a great party atmosphere.

CARNIVAL - Fancy Dress Processions in Javea (26 February)
Carnival celebrations in Javea take place to prepare for the beginning of Lent. Traditional celebrations include colourful processions with local children and adults in fancy dress. There are two parades during the evening - the first takes place for the children, with an adult parade late in the evening followed by music and dancing.

March 2022
BANK HOLIDAY - REGIONAL - Father's Day in Spain (Saturday 19 March)
LA BAIXADA DE JESÚS NAZARENO - Third Sunday of Lent (20 March)
This fiesta is to celebrate the descent of the image of Jesús Nazareno and there is a procession from the chapel of Calvario to the church of San Bartolomé in Old Town of Javea.
April 2022
Easter Week - Holy Week
Palm Sunday (10 April)
Ther are special mass services in the old town and the port with processions on Palm Sunday.
Good Friday (15 April) - BANK HOLIDAY (REGIONAL)
Good Friday (Viernes Santo) is a holiday in the Valencian Region.
Easter Sunday (17 April) - BANK HOLIDAY (NATIONAL)
Easter Sunday sees celebrations in local churches with special mass services. The traditional Easter fair continues in the Old Town. At midday there is a traditional gathering of local associations in the church square, when friends and family meet to enjoy drinks and snacks.
Easter Monday (18 April) - BANK HOLIDAY (REGIONAL)
Easter Sunday (Lunes de Pascua) is a holiday in the Valencian Region.
FIESTAS DE JESUS NAZARENO (End April - 3rd May) Dates to be confirmed
Fiesta in honour of Jesús Nazareno - celebrations include bull-running, live music, decorated flower crosses and a large firework display.

May 2022

Bank Holiday - Local (Javea) - La Subida - The ascent of the image of Jesus Nazareno (3 May)
XÀBIA FOLK 2022 - (May) Dates to be confirmed
Enjoy this popular folk festival which celebrates folk music from around the world, with free performances in the marquee at the Plaza de la Constitución in Javea. The final performance takes place at midday in the little chapel of Santa Llúcia.

Montgorock Xàbia Festival (May 20-21 2022)
The Montgorock Xàbia Festival will return in 2022, where Javea will enjoy a weekend full of great rock music. The "La Fontanera" area which is located a few metres from the beach, will host the latest edition of this National Rock Festival. The best groups and national artists of the rock genre will come together for another year in Javea.
